As of today, I've been in Chicago for a year.

You know, it feels a little bit odd, realizing I've been in one place that long without going on a trip even once. Before I came here, it seemed like I was travelling more often than not, sometimes.

After this all dies down with the CLF, would you be interested in maybe going somewhere, maybe taking a long weekend and getting out of town for a couple days?

It's strange how fast time's passed.
It's coming up to a year for me too soon. Sometimes it feels longer, sometimes it feels like I've barely been here anytime at all.

I've been thinking about it, but I definitely can't go anywhere until our little CLF problem is resolved.

I'd been settled for a while before I came here, but I used to spend quite a bit of time on the road for business. I loved the travel, but I definitely don't miss the business meetings.

Well, I certainly hope Chicago won't implode if we leave for three or four days. And if Jack complains because we take some time off after the amount of work we've put into this case I will have words with him.

Any place you wanted to go? Should probably be someplace in the US, unless you've got a passport.

You never know with Chicago. It might throw a little fit at our absence. Jack is entirely unlikely to.

Well, I suppose that rules out a weekend in Canada, then. Besides, with all of the security measures they put in passports nowadays, the computer systems might have a bit of a fit trying to scan a passport for someone who doesn't exist in any of the government databases in this world.

Maybe someplace warm? I'm getting a bit tired of all this snow. I don't mind it moderation, but after a while I start getting the urge to go someplace where I can defrost a little bit.

I'd have to get a passport card for Canada... it would still probably cause us some problems, yeah.

Well, there aren't that many places in the country that I'd say qualify as warm this time of year...I'd settle for 'above 15°C.'

I suppose we could go to Florida. Florida's warm year-round.
