Mio pauses outside the entrance of Black Wolf Studios and double-checks the name against the business card Bad Ass-sensei gave her.  Yes, this is in fact the correct place.    Mio carefully puts the business card away in her bag, then spends a moment straightening her clothing and hair in an attempt to present the best possible first impression when she enters the building.

Mio approaches the reception desk and waits until she can catch the attention of the person working there.  "Excuse me, miss.  An acquaintance of mine told me that this company was searching for an accountant.  I would like to inquire if the position is still open."

The receptionist twines her gum around her finger thoughfully for a moment. Then she nods to set her blond cirls bouncing. "Um, yeah, I think it, like, is. I can, like, call Keri to see if she can, like, totally interview you now. Please take a seat."

Mio tries not cringe at the manner of the receptionist. Such an unprofessional manner would never be tolerated at any of her father's companies! And twining gum around you fingers is disgusting and unhygienic. Ugh!

Mio primly sits down in a chair and forcibly reminds herself that all of the job postings she's seen while wandering around the Nexus looked much worse than this.

Those same fingers get twined around the phone cord, but the blonde must have a certain level of intelligence to work a phone with that many buttons.

After the phone is hung up, Mio is ignored, but a new (and much more professional looking) woman comes out after about ten minutes.

Mio is relieved to see that not everyone in this company is as unprofessional as the receptionist. Mio stands up to greet the new woman.

"Hello. My name is Hongo Mio. I came to inquire about an opening for an accountant."

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Hongo. I'm Kerington St. James. Please fill out these forms for me." Mio is handed a clip board and pen.

Mio quickly and neatly fills out all of the paperwork. Some of these questions, like "Education," are a little bit complicated to answer, so Mio puts down the most relevant answer (in this case, Seika Private Academy High School Division) and figures she'll clarify if asked in the interview. Hopefully she'll be able to resolve most of these tricky matters before anyone finds out and notify the company of the changes (if necessary) later.

After she's done, Mio meticulously straightens the papers before handing the clipboard back to St. James-san.

She takes the clipboard absently, since she's on a call about something on one of the sets. When she ends the call, she nods to Mio. "I'll be back in a moment." Kerington learned to never review applications in front of applicants just in case she's inspired to laugh.

Mio primly sits back down in the chair and waits patiently for St.James-san to return.

It turns out to be more than a moment, but there's a lube crisis at one of the sets, and Kerington has to sort it out. Oh, and she has to call the boss to tell him about the applicant. This is unusual enough that she'd like his go ahead before deciding if she has the time to spare for an interview.

She does eventually get back to Mio. "Ms. Hongo? If you could come this way, we can begin the interview process."

Mio had begun to worry that things were taking a little bit too long, but you wouldn't have been able to tell that from the way Mio had been sitting nearly perfectly still the entire time during the wait.

When she sees St.James-san returning, Mio stands up gracefully to stand at attention to await St.James-san's next instructions. When St.James-san finishes speaking, Mio promptly follows her to the interview location.

The interview is pretty much standard, although Kerington asks point blank about things like religious beliefs and other things that would be considered grounds for discrimination outside of the Nexus.

"One last question, Ms. Hongo. When you say that you are availible to start immediately, does that mean right this minute?"

Mio notices that some of the questions are a little bit odd, but she answers these as directly and as unflappably as she approaches the rest of the questions.

"Yes, St.James-san, it does." As long as she gets off before dinnertime, Mio has no problems with beginning work right away. In fact, she would be glad of the mental stimulation. (Being a cat for 2 weeks does not allow for many opportunities for mental stimulation, after all.)

She nods. "Excellent. We can hire you on temporary basis for now. That means we reserve the right to fire you at any time, for any reason, but we can also offer you a more perminant position, should we have an opening. If that's acceptable, we can have you start the paperwork now."

Mio bows to St.James-san. "Thank you for your consideration. I accept your offer."

Kerington reaches into a nearby filing cabinet and hands Mio a nice thick stack of papers. There's stuff about health insurance, bank accounts, benifits and tons of other new-hire things. On several things, there is an option to have the thing created for her (such as cell phone, bank account, driver's liscence....)

"It's boring, but necessary. You're on the clock while you do it. Let me show you to a room where you can work on things."

Mio knows all about the boring but necessary paperwork. Unlike her sister, who was being trained in management, Mio was trained in operations (in order to better support her sister (and her future husband, when the time came)), which was all about the boring but necessary paperwork that kept everything running.

Mio follows Kerington to the room and sits down at the table and immediately begins going through the paperwork. Some of the papers, such as the explanation of benefits and the brochure about health insurance, are set aside to read later. Mio feels that there is no particular reason to waste the company's time by reading it here when she can perfectly well read it at home on her own time. After everything is sorted, Mio goes back and spends a couple hours reading the more important information and filling out the paperwork required to get onto the company health insurance plan, and to request a Nexus cell phone, bank account, and identification.

When she's done, Mio stands up and asks the nearest person where she find St.James-san.

Kerington is juggling two different phones when Mio gets sent to the right place. It takes a few tries since Kerington is all over the office, but the landline is keeping her from going to far at the moment.

"All done? Good. I don't have time to get you started on things right now. Come back tomorrow at 8am, please."

Mio bows to St.James-san. "Thank you very much. Shitsurei shimasu."
