I was thinking about having Torchwood host a welcoming dinner for the new residents on Monday night.  It would give the new residents an opportunity to meet the members of Torchwood, and vice versa.

It would also be a good opportunity to get everyone in one place so I can start assigning things like cleaning duties.  With over thirty people living in the Kashtta now, common areas will get messy very quickly if we aren't proactive about such things.

What do you think?

Yeah. The problem with those that work for money is that they can be bought. Someone providing work for free might be out for your soul, but odds are they represent some sort of institution you can negotiate with, and if that fails, at least there's something there to investigate and get leverage with. I have some experience with re-aligning organizational goals to accommodate Torchwood, but given how unstable world economics are, I'd prefer to be as cautious as I can with our fund. Fat stacks of cash can't be our answer.

{{OOC: ...only Jack would be more comfortable, as a rule, with espionage and subversion than something like PAYING PEOPLE MONEY.}}

If at all possible, finding or training someone in-house to do it would be preferable. We just have to keep our eye out for a wanderer with the right talents.

{{OOC: Yow. Jack stepped on a nerve. ...like he do.}}

Sorry. Rhetorical hyperbole.

I'll talk to Mercury about it – I think it's probably not too far-fetched.
